Siemens Healthcare announced that it made this year's InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation's most innovative users of business technology, breaking onto the list for the first time at #212. The 2010 list was revealed last night at a gala awards ceremony at the exclusive InformationWeek 500 Conference taking place at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, CA.

Siemens was specifically recognized for its innovative use of software technology from 6Connex™, the pioneer of virtual business solutions, which it leveraged to unveil a series of ongoing free virtual healthcare information technology conferences to better engage and inform healthcare providers, customers, and prospects. Kicking off in February 2010 with an event designed to help attendees learn how health IT can propel organizations to exceptional achievements in the delivery of healthcare services, each conference offers valuable educational content and networking opportunities minus the associated costs and travel commitments, as well as many of the same amenities as a real trade show:

- Virtual meeting rooms and auditoriums, populated with video keynote presentations
- Access to preloaded videos and documents
- Multiple "exhibit" halls, complete with product demonstrations and case studies

Over the first three days of the February conference, attendees spent an average of 170 minutes in the virtual environment and Siemens exceeded several attendance goals throughout the event.

"Siemens is proud to be a part of this year's InformationWeek 500 list, recognizing America's leading innovative users of business technology," said John Glaser, CEO, Health Services, Siemens Healthcare. "Especially thrilling is the fact that our winning project was focused on creating a collaborative environment where our customers, prospects, and the general public could share important insights surrounding the future of healthcare. Awards such as these are important benchmarks for us as we explore new ways to leverage technology to help stay connected to our target audiences."

"For 22 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology," said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. "As we start to emerge from the worst recession in decades, the IT focus is now on driving growth-new sources of revenue, new relationships with customers, even new business models. This year's ranking placed special emphasis on those companies and business technology executives leading that charge."

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America's best-known companies. Top winners have included: CME Group, Conway, National Semiconductor, Kimberly-Clark, Hilton Hotels and Unum. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.Additional details on the InformationWeek 500 can be found online at: www.
